The problem Nature Nexus solves

Nature Nexus is a comprehensive platform that enhances wildlife conservation through real-time tracking, crowdfunding, emergency support, and educational resources. Its real-time tracking feature allows users to monitor endangered species and their habitats, offering crucial data on animal movements and habitat conditions. This helps researchers and conservationists respond quickly to threats such as poaching or habitat loss. The crowdfunding tool simplifies financial support for conservation projects, accepting both cryptocurrency and traditional payments to ensure vital initiatives receive the necessary funding. Additionally, Nature Nexus provides resources for emergency response and veterinary care, connecting users with experts to address wildlife crises promptly. The platform also includes educational content, including blogs and articles, to raise awareness about endangered species and conservation challenges. By combining these features, Nature Nexus makes it easier for individuals and organizations to engage in and support effective wildlife protection efforts.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of Nature Nexus, we encountered several challenges. First, we faced issues with mismatched schemas between the sign-up process and the blog feature, leading to data inconsistencies. To resolve this, we reviewed and aligned the schemas, ensuring that user data and blog posts were consistent and accurate. Next, we ran into problems with local authentication using NextAuth, where user credentials and session management weren’t working correctly. We addressed this by refining our authentication process, implementing secure token handling, and thoroughly testing the system to ensure reliability. Lastly, we struggled with integrating the crowdfunding feature, particularly with processing payments smoothly.
