The problem Narrow-Links solves
The project we created is about URL Shortener(Narrow-Links) - it creates a short, unique URL that will redirect to the specific website of the user's choice.
It is secure and has HTTP protocol and data encryption.
so if a person wants to shares a link or include a link in their profile there are circumstances where it is too long and it takes up the whole space and a lot of characters and which is a problem when there are limited characters to be typed. so our project solves the problem. we make those long URLs short and have a copy button to copy the short URL immediately. We have a Unique Feature compared to Other URL shortening websites which is a QR Code Generator - which generates a QR code of the link pasted by the user and by scanning this URL it redirects to the Website link that the user pasted. we also have a Log in feature which keeps the track of the shortened links of the user in their profile. In this way, the user makes their Website QR code and share it on posters, brochures and can be used in various ways.
Challenges we ran into
During the course of making the project we encountered many difficulties and challenges. First and main problem was all of us were not familiar with React and Node JS so we had to understand each and everything before proceeding. I had to help my fellow members to get to solve the errors , using npm to install and run and setting up the project. Also one more thing we faced was having continuos merge conflicts and issues because the changes were conflicting and we had a hard time fixing those. One more issue we had was that we were not able to complete the QR code section and we were not getting it right for 1.5 days but still we were able to pull of that because one our teammates took the initiative to solve that and also completed that
