The problem MobiVac solves

Tracking down your Vaccination Vans

Problem: Most of the hospitals in India face overcrowding and have congested vaccination rooms which put people at the risk of getting infected at the vaccination center as the social distancing cannot be maintained.

Notify People about Empty Vaccine Slots.

Problem: Major reason for the wastage of the vaccine is that one vial of the vaccine has 10 doses. And these doses have to be used under 4 hours after the opening of the vial.
If some people did not show up for their booked slots, the shots allotted to them get wasted.

Supplying in the Places of Demand

Problem: There is no system yet that lets the Government know about the places where demand for vaccines is high. This leads to a situation where supply is ample at places with low demand while creating a shortage at places in need.

Helping Old and Specially-Abled people

Problem: Old and specially-abled people find it difficult to commute to vaccination centers.

Challenges we ran into

The whole web app is mainly dependent on the front-line workers, because only if they update the portal can we actually render the number of vaccines available in real-time.

Since we will be using Google Maps API, testing the web app in real-life scenarios gets a bit tough in the lockdown period.

We also need the real-time location of our vaccine vans, this means our web app has to request access from the devices at regular intervals. This is the part my team is actually looking into.

Since we will be asking the general public to fill up their forms for registration, verifying that the data they have provided us is genuine or not would be a challenge for us.
