The problem Mission Red solves

Menstruation or periods are the normal and healthy part of life of women. But, lack of availability of sanitary products and hygenic infrastructure exacerbate the problem for women during their menstural cycle leaving them in helpless and isolated state. Also, entrenched stigma and taboos related to menstruation worsen the situation for women. Hence, drastic changes are needed to encourage positive social norms and ultimately enact behavioural change towards mensturation process.

Mission Red is a web portal that aims to create awareness about mensturation and provide solutions to the general problems faced by women during this phase. It provides doctor's consultation support, delivery service by stores selling sanitary products, periods tracker and blog writting section to publicly discuss about mensturation. It will abolish the absurd silence and shame that surround this natural biological event and will prove as a remarkable innovation in the field of women hygiene and health.

Challenges I ran into

The major challenge that I faced while building this project was to find the solution of the most common problem faced by women during periods that is unavailability of sanitary products at the required time. Most of the women have faced the problem of not having the sanitary napkins whenever they require one outside their home. They have to struggle hard to find such products at the nearby place. Also, they feel uncomfortable to walk down to nearby stores in such a situation. So, I felt the need for finding a way so that these requirements can be fulfilled quickly and at the very place where they are present. I brainstromed over this issue and came up with an idea to quick delivery service by nearby stores to current location of such women. So, I included a feature where women can order these items to the nearby stores and that will be delivered to their location.
In addition to above challenge, I encountered many bugs while developing this project and I tried to debug them by finding the root cause and solution for that bugs.
