We empower Web2 creators to receive instant payments by seamlessly onboarding them to onchain with a simple, engaging call-to-action: "Mint Me A Coffee." While gamifying the tipping experience, making it fun and rewarding for supporters
Traditional platforms like BuyMeACoffee.com, Ko-Fi, and Patreon rely on payment systems such as PayPal and Stripe, which exclude over 30% of creators under 18 who lack bank accounts or face restricted access to these services. This leaves young YouTubers, TikTokers, and other emerging talents unable to monetize their work, while conventional payment methods add onboarding friction for all creators.
Meanwhile, existing blockchain-based tipping platforms often lack a distinct identity, feeling generic. Mint Me A Coffee introduces a Web3 evolution of creator tipping with a coffee-themed mechanism that simplifies the ask for support. By leveraging fast, immediate payments on the blockchain, it enables seamless, inclusive monetization for creators of all ages, requiring only an internet connection.
Fans “buy a coffee” for their favorite content creator and receive a unique coffee-mug-themed NFT, either as a collectible or to unlock perks, while creators earn passive income across channels, especially from non-crypto natives. By empowering the next generation of creators and fostering a vibrant digital commons, MintMeACoffee.com breaks down barriers and drives innovation in the creator economy.
As a vibe coder, my first ten apps were over-engineered because the initial prompts were way too elaborate. I had to trim them down significantly. The mini app still isn’t where I want it to be, and Ohara is looking into the project’s issues, as it’s not fully functioning, but it definitely provides a clear visual of the concept for further development of the MVP.
The best way to achieve what I was looking for was by simplifying things in the prompts, making it easier for Ohara AI to get as close as possible to my vision while gradually adding features. I also leveraged insights from other vibe coders’ apps that are already working.
I contracted a dev to create a basic minting template. My biggest fear was security—how to ensure the person who created the app didn’t install a backdoor or something to drain people’s wallets. The initial version wasn’t really what I was looking for, but it was a start. You can see it here at mintmeacoffee.com.
At the same time, I’ve networked with many devs, but I haven’t connected with enough to find the right partner for this project yet. It would be great to have a matching app perhaphs
