The problem MiniWhales solves
The crypto curious are held back from entering crypto due to issues surrounding trust, complexity of tech and security.
If they currently don't have friends who know crypto their only options are to go to X, youtube, reddit or similar platforms and sort by unreliable metrics such as follower counts, views, or likes.
MiniWhales bridges the gap with 4 features: A new web3 role-based proof-of-skills DID protocol used to signal expertise to consumers to facilitate quick connections, an aggregated feed of upvoted alpha from group chats for fast access to the most need to know daily information, a pet companion who evolves and unlocks rewards based on user's onchain and offchain achievements in role based competitions, and the Builder's Rewards Program a limited nft-gated collection offering creators and brands access to the dapp store for enhanced discovery and business building tools to attract the best experts and builders to the ecosystem.
Challenges I ran into
Finding devs to take on such an ambitious project was difficult. We ultimately worked with 4 various teams of devs across multiple fields including social, gaming, onchain, marketplace, and dapp store to build our alpha. However, this process further reinforced the need for MiniWhales. Afterall, where exactly does one go if they want to quickly hire a web3 trustworthy dev? What about a trader, a web3 content creator or brand? Follower count, likes and views are not enough to establish trust.
