The problem Minisend solves

Minisend solves the last-mile problem for African creators and builders earning USDC on Base.

The Problem:
Onchain earners face a broken off-ramp:

  • CEXs require complex KYC, charge 3-5% fees, and often freeze accounts
  • P2P trading is risky and time-consuming
  • Most Africans lack access to crypto-friendly banking

The Solution:
Direct USDC to local currency withdrawals:

  • Nigeria: Instant bank transfers (NGN)
  • Kenya: M-Pesa mobile money (KES)

Impact:

  • Eliminates 2-3 day withdrawal delays
  • Reduces fees from 5%+ to <1%
  • No CEX accounts needed
  • $85K moved in 3 months across 1k users

Minisend makes Base earnings actually spendable for African builders, removing the friction that keeps talent out of onchain economies.

Challenges I ran into

1. Fiat Payment Provider Integration

African payment APIs are inconsistent and poorly documented. Flutterwave and Paystack webhooks would randomly fail, causing transaction state mismatches.

Solution: Built a robust reconciliation system with independent transaction IDs and manual retry queues. Added webhook signature verification and fallback polling for failed deliveries.

2. USDC Liquidity Management

Initially, we manually swapped USDC to NGN/KES for each withdrawal. This didn't scale and caused 20-30min delays.

Solution: Implemented automated liquidity pools with Paycrest on Base.

3. Gas Fee UX Problem

Users with only USDC couldn't pay Base gas fees to initiate withdrawals.

Solution: Integrated Coinbase Paymaster for gasless transactions. Now users can withdraw USDC without needing ETH in their wallet.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?

Minisend is the only Farcaster-native offramp built specifically for African creators earning on Base.

What Makes Us Different:

  1. Distribution Built-In
-Lives inside Farcaster where Base users already earn (tips, bounties, creator payments)
-No app downloads or separate platforms instant access from your social feed
-Competitors require users to leave their earning environment

  2. Zero CEX Dependency
-Direct USDC to bank/M-Pesa in one transaction
-No Binance, no multi-day KYC, no frozen funds
-Critical for Africa where CEX access is unreliable

  3. Local Payment Rails
-Native NGN bank transfers + KES M-Pesa integration
-Money hits accounts users actually use for daily expenses
-Other crypto offramps require USD accounts most Africans don't have

Alpha Validation:

Our metrics prove the UVP works:

  • $85K volume in 3 months with zero marketing spend
  • 1k total users across platforms (organic growth)
  • Average withdrawal: $71 (real utility, not speculation)
  • 68% repeat user rate (solves genuine pain point)

Users literally tell us: "First time I've actually spent my Farcaster earnings IRL."

The alpha proves Farcaster users on Base have onchain earnings but no practical way to spend them locally ,we're the bridge.

Who is your target customer?

African creators and builders earning USDC on Farcaster & Base App

Primary Persona:

  • Nigerian/Kenyan developers, designers, content creators
  • Earning $50-$500/month in onchain payments (tips, bounties, freelance work)
  • Banked but lack crypto exchange access or trust CEXs
  • Need earnings for rent, groceries, bills not speculation

Secondary Persona:

  • DAO contributors and Web3 community managers in Africa
  • Receive USDC payments but struggle with local conversion
  • Value speed + reliability over lowest fees

Validation Through Data:

  1. Usage Patterns Confirm Target
-Average withdrawal: $71 (utility transactions, not whales)
-68% repeat users = solving real recurring need
-Peak usage: weekends/month-end (bill payment timing)

  2. Geographic Concentration
-82% of volume from Nigeria + Kenya
-Validates our payment rail strategy (NGN banks + M-Pesa)

  3. Direct User Feedback
-"First time I've withdrawn Farcaster earnings without Binance"
-"Paid my rent directly from Base for the first time"
-"3 minutes vs 3 days to access my money"

  4. Growth Channel Proves Fit
    -100% organic growth through Farcaster
-Users discover us while earning, not through ads
    -Community-driven adoption (creator referrals)

Why They're Right: They have the problem (onchain earnings), live where we have rails (Nigeria/Kenya), and exist where we have distribution (Farcaster and Base app ). The $85K in 3 months with zero marketing spend proves it.

Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?

Competitors:

  1. Binance P2P (https://p2p.binance.com)
-CEX dependency, 2-3 day withdrawals, 5% fees, account freezes
-We're direct, 1 min, <2% fees, no CEX

  2. Yellow Card (https://yellowcard.io)
    -Standalone app, manual transfers required
-We're embedded in Farcaster where users earn

  3. Coinbase (https://coinbase.com)
-Not available in Nigeria/Kenya, requires USD accounts
-We use local rails (NGN banks, M-Pesa)

  4. Chipper Cash (https://chippercash.com)
-Weak Base/USDC support, not built for onchain earners
    -We're USDC-native on Base

  5. Payflow (https://payflow.me)
-Farcaster payments in, not cash out
    -Complementary, not competitive

What Makes Us Different:

Only solution that combines:

  • Farcaster-native distribution (earn AND cash out in one place)
  • Base/USDC optimized (no multi-chain complexity)
  • African payment rails (NGN + M-Pesa)
  • No CEX dependency (one-step USDC → spendable money)

We're not competing for crypto traders,we're serving onchain earners competitors ignore

What is your distribution strategy and why?

Strategy: Embedded Distribution (Product = Channel)

1. Farcaster-Native Growth

  • Mini app lives where users earn (tips, bounties, DAO payments)
  • In-feed discovery = 0 friction, users find us at moment of need
  • Viral loop: every withdrawal creates social proof in feeds

2. Base Ecosystem Partnerships

  • Integrate with projects paying USDC (DAOs, bounty platforms, creator tools)
  • Become default offramp at point of payment
  • Examples: Base Guild, /base communities, Talent Protocol

3. Wallet & Protocol Integrations

  • Embed in Base wallets (Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow) as native feature
  • Partner with Base apps (Zora, Paragraph) for creator cash-outs

Why This Works:

  • Users discover us while earning, not searching
  • Community-driven = trusted referrals over ads
  • Our $50K/696 users came 100% organically (validates approach)
  • Low-margin business (can't afford paid CAC)

Why NOT Paid Ads:

  • Target users earn $50-$500/month (CAC kills economics)
  • African crypto users distrust ads (scam fatigue)
  • Can't replicate in-context discovery through paid channels

6-Month Target: 10+ Base partnerships, 5K users, $500K volume still $0 ad spend. We scale through being infrastructure, not a destination.
