Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

We are participating in Based LatAm because we see the potential of the Base blockchain to expand opportunities for developers and players in Latin America. We want to promote decentralized applications and blockchain-based technologies, giving the community the ability to create and play transparent and fair games. Our project helps to develop the Base ecosystem and expands its use cases.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We are addressing several issues:

1. The lack of interactive blockchain games with simple rules for mass adoption.
2. The need for transparency in blockchain games, where users can be sure that the outcome of the game is not manipulated.
3. The shortage of gaming decentralized applications tailored to regions like Latin America, considering their cultural and economic characteristics.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Our project offers a solution through the classic game of Minesweeper, utilizing the Base blockchain. We have implemented a decentralized version of the game where every player's move is recorded on the blockchain, ensuring full transparency and fairness. By using smart contracts, we guarantee that the outcome of each round cannot be tampered with, and winners can earn NFTs as rewards. This creates interest and trust among players, especially in regions where trust in traditional games is low.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was integrating smart contracts with game mechanics. Creating a fair and fully decentralized game logic was complex due to the need to record every action on the blockchain. We solved this by using optimized smart contracts that minimize gas fees and delays. Another challenge was implementing NFTs as rewards, which required integration with existing token standards.

Additional Features

During the Buildathon, we added an NFT-based rewards system, which not only motivates players but also allows them to collect unique items as they progress through levels. We also implemented new algorithms to optimize the speed of interactions with the blockchain.
