We take this new problem statement of helping people find new Travel buddies that they can vibe with, and execute it in a manner that people are familiar with. The base of the problem statement is to help travelers connect with other like-minded travelers or a group of travelers. It also accounts for a business opportunity for Travel Agencies that provide Group tour packages to sell those packages to the vibrant community of interested Travellers using our App.
Since Tinder/Bumble has already established a mental model of "Swiping", we leveraged that model to solve a newer problem in an entirely different dimension. We created a few User Personas, validated them with a Survey, & attempted to address all of their issues and to create the best App for them.
First and foremost our biggest challenge was understanding and choosing the themes provided and devising a solid problem statement out of it. We started by delegating themes to each of the three team members who worked towards understanding and coming up with unique solution concepts. Once we knew which theme and problem statement we were going to target, our next challenge was to come up with a way to make our hack as unique as possible. Another challenge we faced alongside was to categorize all the different kinds of users we would have to account for, to tackle this, we created user personas and conducted a survey to validate those personas. Once we knew all the variables within the problem statement and had an idea of a unique hack concept for our UI, we started the Design Process.
