The problem Meridian solves
Meridian helps solve the UI/UX friction in cross-border FX payments by providing a compliance-first, efficient, and easily accessible framework for stablecoin settlement on the Canton Network. Selective disclosure ensures each party (sender, recipient, regulator) sees only the data relevant to their role, while automated AML/KYC screening runs inline at acceptance time, not as a separate manual process. This enables compliance and privacy to be a priority in on-chain FX transactions.
Challenges I ran into
One issue I ran into was figuring out how to prevent different users from accessing sensitive information on a shared smart contract. I was able to overcome this by creating separate smart contract payments for each of them.
