The problem MemorEase solves
MemorEase addresses the challenge of efficiently learning and retaining complex information. Traditional study methods can be time-consuming and overwhelming, especially when dealing with large volumes of content.
With MemorEase, users can:
Instantly generate AI-powered summaries to grasp key concepts faster.
Create quizzes and flashcards for active recall and self-testing.
Build cheat sheets and mnemonics to reinforce memory.
Highlight and bookmark important sections for quick review.
Save and revisit study sessions, making learning more organized and trackable.
By automating and enhancing study workflows, MemorEase makes learning easier, more interactive, and safer by keeping user data secure with modern authentication and cloud storage.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was securely managing sensitive API keys and Firebase credentials. Initially, these values were hardcoded, which posed a security risk. To solve this, I moved all secrets to environment variables and updated the codebase to reference them safely.
Another hurdle was integrating AI features smoothly with the Next.js and Firebase stack. Handling asynchronous AI responses and updating the UI in real time required careful state management and error handling.
I also faced issues with responsive design and accessibility. By leveraging TailwindCSS and testing across devices, I ensured the app works well for all users.
Through research, refactoring, and community support, I overcame these challenges and built a robust, secure, and user-friendly platform.
