The problem Medicord solves

💡 Inspiration

Many countries do not have a synchronized medical platform where patients can view their health records, contact doctors, etc. Often, they need to wait long hours to get medical help due to logistics and lack of communication between patients and doctors. This inspired us to create Medicord, a web platform designed to help patients keep track of their medical records and efficiently communicate with their doctors. This website securely stores all of the patient’s medical records, through the use of blockchain and allows them to book appointments with their doctor. In case they need immediate medical help, they can set up a virtual consultation with their doctor.

🔐 Best Blockchain Project Using Hedera

We are using Hedera’s testnet to deploy smart contracts and build a decentralized chatroom. Hedera is a decentralized public network that utilizes the Hashgraph consensus algorithm to overcome the traditional limitations of blockchain and allow one to create the next era of fast, fair, and secure applications.

🤝 Most Creative Use of GitHub

We are using GitHub for the following reasons:

• Collaboration: GitHub makes it easy to share code with others and helps a lot in collaboration.
• GitHub Project: We also used GitHub for planning and keeping track of our project and its progress with the help of the - GitHub project management tool.
• Using PRs and Issues: We are doing multiple PRs and building multiple issues to keep on track of the project.

🔗 Replit

We have deployed our project on Replit. Replit is a cloud-based IDE that allows you to code in 50+ programming languages without having to install anything on your computer. It is a great tool for developers to collaborate and build projects.

Challenges we ran into

• There were quite a few challenges we had while building this project. We had to brainstorm and come up with a feasible idea that was innovative and could be implemented within the given time frame.
• Some of our teammates did not have much experience using React.js and they had to learn more about it especially when it came to fixing issues.
• Moreover, implementing Hedera was a bit difficult as we did not have much experience with it.
• Finally, since we were located in different time zones, it was hard to collaborate.
• In spite of these challenges, we were able to complete the project within the deadline.
