The problem MEDICHAIN solves

The system which we have created using Blockchain technology solves some of the major problems in the existing Pharmaceutical supply chain. The problems on which our team focused, worked and presented an intermediate solution in the 24 hour hackathon are :

1. Expiry Date tampering
2. Sales of Fake Medicines (Identifying the originality factors of medicine)
3. Occurence of Mishap(Damaged caused due to packaging while transportation and handling).
   The first and foremost problem which is the tampering of expiry date is a major problem as many people try to rub or vanish the original expiry date and print or stick a new expiry data so that their old stock of medicines which is expired doesn't goes in scrap and gets sold. The next major problem is regarding the sales of fake medicines, the originality of the product(medicine) of a pharmaceutical company needs to be known to the consumer so that the consumer purchases the original and right medicine. The last problem whose solution we figurd out roughly is the Occurence of Mishap problem which is caused due to inefficiency in management and handling of the product.

Challenges we ran into

1. It was difficult to configure a private blockchain.
