In today's fast-paced world, finding and scheduling appointments with doctors can be time-consuming and frustrating. Long waiting periods, inconvenient appointment slots, and poor accessibility to healthcare professionals are common issues. The lack of a streamlined process can delay necessary treatments, especially in emergencies.
How It Makes Tasks Easier/Safer:
Effortless Booking: Patients can book doctor appointments in real time with just a few taps, avoiding the hassle of long phone calls or in-person scheduling.

Challenges we ran into
Challenges We Faced:
During the development of our doctor appointment booking app, we encountered several key challenges that required innovative solutions to deliver a seamless experience.
Real-Time Slot Synchronization:
One of the biggest hurdles was ensuring accurate, real-time synchronization of appointment slots across multiple doctors and clinics. With high traffic and concurrent bookings, there were initial discrepancies between available slots displayed to users and the actual bookings made.
Solution: We implemented a locking mechanism for appointment slots, paired with a WebSocket-based system for real-time updates. This ensured that no double bookings occurred and that users always saw the most accurate availability, enhancing the app’s reliability and user experience.
User Authentication & Data Security:
Given the sensitivity of medical data, maintaining robust data security and compliance with healthcare privacy standards such as HIPAA was a critical challenge. Protecting users’ personal information while ensuring smooth access was paramount.
Solution: We adopted end-to-end encryption to protect all user data and integrated OAuth 2.0 for secure user authentication. This not only safeguarded patient information but also ensured that only authorized users could access sensitive data, building trust in the app’s security
