MEDICARE
We present a framework that could be used for the implementation of blockchain technology in healthcare sector for EHR.
The problem MEDICARE solves
Blockchain is essentially a distributed ledger technology that records transactions across multiple computers in a way that makes them tamper-proof. In the context of medical records, this means once a record is added to the blockchain, it cannot be altered or deleted. Patients can have control over who has access to their medical records. They can grant permission to specific healthcare providers or researchers through secure, encrypted keys. Blockchain can help address the issue of interoperability in healthcare. Different healthcare systems and providers often use incompatible formats and standards for electronic health records (EHRs). Blockchain can serve as a standardized platform for storing and accessing these records.
