Saving lives a minute at a time!

The problem MediCare solves

The Problem

According to recent statistics, approximately 24,012 individuals pass away each day due to delays in receiving medical assistance or arriving at hospitals in a timely manner. Medical emergencies can arise unexpectedly and can happen to anyone, regardless of their location or circumstances. The promptness with which these emergencies are addressed can often mean the difference between life and death. It has been estimated that by arriving at a hospital just 10 minutes earlier, a significant number of lives could be saved. These critical minutes are frequently spent coordinating with hospitals regarding availability and arranging for ambulance transportation. In the case of time-sensitive emergencies such as strokes or heart attacks, the use of MediCare could help to eliminate these delays and improve patient outcomes.

The Solution

MediCare offers a valuable solution for managing medical emergencies. Our platform provides real-time information on nearby hospitals and their available bed capacity. Utilizing a sophisticated recommendation system, MediCare suggests hospitals in a specific order based on the user’s location and the nature of the emergency. Once a hospital has been selected, users have the option to navigate to the hospital using the provided directions or to request ambulance transportation. With MediCare, you can take control of emergency situations and help ensure that those around you receive the timely medical assistance they need. We have also added a blood bank feature because every source matters when it comes to well being of our loved ones.

Challenges we ran into

We faced a variety of technical challenges as we worked to develop innovative solutions within a limited timeframe. One challenge that we have encountered is the integration of various components, such as maps, admin dashboards, and middleware. Ensuring that these components work seamlessly together can be a complex and time-consuming task. We have had to troubleshoot issues related to compatibility, data exchange, and user interface design in order to achieve a successful integration.
