The Med Zone is a place where uneducated deaf and mute people can communicate with doctors. No problem if the doctor doesn't know sign language, as it encodes sign language into text.
The problem Med Zone solves
- We have been forced to stay at home due to the pandemic, and people are doubtful about going out to consult doctors nowadays.
- People are opting towards online personal health care.
- As a result, we developed a personal care webapp that allows patients to consult doctors from the comfort of their own homes.
- There are over a million deaf and dumb people. In which there are over 75% of people who are uneducated.
- So we've devised MedZone as a solution to the problem, so that it is accessible to everyone, regardless of their disabilities, to consult a doctor online.
- Even the docotor who attends the patient didn't know any sign language. There willbe no more issues here after. We have trained a tensorflow model that encodes the hand gesture into text, which will be sent to the docotor at the other end.
- We also integrated a chat room and a video room to make this website useful for everyone.
Challenges we ran into
- Making an accurate gesture of handpose.
- Encoding handpose gesture to text.
- Creating a secure and private video and chat room for doctors and patients, respectively.
