The problem MealZip solves

Currently the system of waiting in long canteen queues to order snacks creates a huge ruckus. As soon as the lectures get over a lot of students directly go to the college canteens and on-campus shops making these places chaotic and those having introverted personalities find it even harder to order among all this mess.
With our app they can order their favorite snacks and beverages which will aid in reducing all the fuss in the canteen. Everyone will have a fair chance and they won't have to waste time waiting for their orders as they will be informed via app notifications.
Shop keepers will have a better idea of the crowd demands that is going to come the following day and this will help them to gather the raw material beforehand and thus will reduce the waste of extra products made.
As we will introduce graphs for their daily and weekly sales they can easily monitor which products have higher demands. This analysis will help them to gain better profits

All the students of different Universities, local shops and canteens across the country are to be benefited by this initiative.This will aid in maintaining COVID-19 protocols and provide a more systematic way to order things and will save a lot of time of students and a lot of efforts of shopkeepers.

Challenges we ran into

It was a very demanding task to design the UI/UX of the app beacuse we wanted it to be easy to use for the merchants as well as attractive for the consumers. After discarding a plethora of designs we ended up locking this one.
Designing the backend was another tedious task because with every new testcase and feature we had to rethink the schemas and how to make it better for the future improvements and smooth functioning.
Making an app which was up to the mark with our wireframes was one of the most challenging tasks for us, which we have almost completed and will continue to work towards making the app better
