Malaria Mind:AI for Malaria Management and Control
Our AI model can detect malaria in different locations earlier and with high accuracy upto 92%.They will monitor and analyze disease trends, allowing faster response to outbreaks
The problem Malaria Mind:AI for Malaria Management and Control solves
AI can be used to predict outbreaks of malaria of mainly two cotegories namely P.falciparum(one of the most harmful types) and P.vivax, which can help in preparedness and early response efforts. This will allow people to evacuate areas or take precaution before the malarial breakout. AI-powered diagnostic tools can help in early detection of malaria, improving the chances of successful treatment. It can assist in monitoring and tracking malaria trends and spread, providing insights into areas that require intervention. AI can help in mapping transmission hotspots and vector habitats, enabling targeted intervention. It can optimize the distribution of malaria treatments, improving access to life-saving medicines.
Challenges we ran into
Analysing huge volumes of data from disparate sources we carry out data exploration to understand the variables we have and their relationship to a target, if we have one. Understanding the relation between feature and target. Furthermore merging data from different sources to create a relation between feature and target. Dealing with missing values in data from different sources can be challenging and can impact the accuracy of the AI model. Normalizing data from various sources so that it can be used to train the AI model can be difficult. Cleaning data from various sources to remove inconsistencies, errors, and outliers is crucial but can be time-consuming.
