Love-Onchain
Your Gateway to Web3 Dating
Why are you participating for Based Africa?
Participating in Based Africa gives me the chance to be part of a larger movement that bridges the gap between Web2 and Web3, and between people’s current realities and the opportunities that decentralized technology can offer.
My focus is not only to contribute as a builder but also to create accessible content that simplifies decentralization to the broader african audience hence, I aim to push the boundaries of what’s possible on the Base blockchain while uplifting the African Web3 ecosystem.
What challenges are you focusing on?
With the help of BASE, I am addressing the challenges of building a balanced work-life relationship, securing user identity while finding love and friendship in my community.
How does your submission address this challenge?
It is no longer a new thing both web2 and web3 workers in Lagos state, Nigeria has "NO TIME FOR LOVE". This is not because they do not want love, but because the stress they undergo daily has made them forget what it feels like to be Loved/ be in love.
NOTE: Some of these people hardly go out aside from thier work days. The same can also be said for web3 people who are constantly engrossed on their devices, searching for the next big gem, from the comfort of their homes.
Love is a beautiful thing and should not be difficult to find. This is why LOVE-ONCHAIN is here.
Love-Onchain is a web3 dating platform on the base ecosystem that connects and matches you to the right kind of relationship, whether you are searching for love or friendship, all from your local environment.
It onboards you to web3
Allows you to connect and find love within your local environment
Protects your identity, as well as
Helps you become one of the early holders of the coinbase smart wallet NFT.
Challenges I ran into
I ran into so much challenges especially from building my team. I formed my team 2 times but finally dissolved them all because they were not willing to put in the work. I even had to do some of the coding myself and integrate the coinbase onchainkit but my frontend was not displayingI as I was new to programming so I abandoned it.
I was happy when the submission date was extended with hope we could achieve something but they all disappointed at the last minutes. Just 2 days to the submission.
Finally, I decided that since base is for everyone, including content, I might as well submit my content.
I have a few graphic design skills as well as video editing skill so, i decided to use it in producing my content and making it a whole lot more appealing for user consumption.
Just before i forget, We had constant power outage throughout the days of the hackathon as my country Nigeria's National Grid had collapsed but that didn't stop me because I always transported myself to a footbal betting house (Bet9ja office), close to my area.
Also, Some of the days, our communication networks may be down and would require that I switch to another so, I had to buy enough data accross many network, to ensure that i was constantly available online when needed.
