As we are aware, a significant number of pets go missing each year. Currently, only traditional methods are available for locating lost pets, such as searching in local streets on our own or checking animal shelters. Despite these options, some individuals opt for expensive GPS collars for their dogs, although these collars come with limited battery life and are rarely utilized by Indian families. To address this issue, we have developed our website, Lost Pet Guardian.
On our website, when we encounter a lost pet in our locality, we capture their picture and input essential details such as their color, breed, category, and location. Subsequently, we upload this information to our website, allowing others in the area to access the details of lost pets and reach out to the owners.
In this project, we have implemented blockchain technology to enhance the security and immutability of lost pet reports. When a user submits a lost pet report, the system creates a unique transaction and appends it to the blockchain. The blockchain enhances security by using cryptographic techniques to link each block to the previous one. This linkage, based on hashes, ensures that tampering with one block would require changing all subsequent blocks, making it extremely secure against data manipulation.
Once data is added to the blockchain, it becomes immutable. This means that once a lost pet report is added, it cannot be altered or deleted. It provides a permanent and transparent record of all lost pet reports.
By leveraging blockchain technology, we ensure the integrity, security, and transparency of our lost pet report system. Each report becomes part of an immutable transaction chain, enhancing trust and data reliability.
We got difficulty in adding blockchain Technology as we were new in this field.
