From Static to Life

The problem mAgicmirRor solves

Problem Our Project Solves
Textbooks often show animals only through static pictures, which makes it difficult for students to fully understand their structure, size, and unique features. This leads to:
Limited visualization of animals beyond 2D images
Less engaging learning experiences for kids
Difficulty in remembering details about different species
Lack of exposure to animals that cannot be seen in real life

Our Solution: mAgicmiRror
The Animal & Planet Augmenting AR Science Book addresses this by allowing students to scan book pages and instantly view realistic 3D models of animals and planets. Animals can be observed from all sides to understand their posture and biological traits, while planets can be explored in 3D to study their size, surface, and texture in the solar system. The models can be seen from all sides, giving a clear idea of their shape, posture, and characteristics.
This makes learning:
Simpler – Things are easier to understand when viewed in 3D
Memorable – vivid visuals help students recall facts better
Accessible – usable offline with printed books and AR PDFs
Modern learning – supports NEP 2020’s experiential approach

Our AR science book turns ordinary pages into living visuals of animals and planets, making zoology and space science lessons more immersive and effective without the need for physical models, telescopes, or field trips.

Challenges we ran into

mAgicmirRor app was built at Hack4Bihar under Open Innovation.
For HackOdisha 5.0, we’re submitting an improved version with added website, drive, APK, and AR-PDF features. The idea follows an open-innovation approach.
Old Version
1). AR-powered book with 3D models and Android AR app for scanning.
New Version
1). Added website platform for wider accessibility
2). Cloud drive integration for storage & sharing of resources
3). APK download option for instant installation on Android devices
4). AR-enabled PDFs allowing interactive offline learning
5). Multi-volume support Animal volume and planets volume
6). User-friendly dashboard for managing resources
7). Cross-device access (web + mobile)
8). Improved UI/UX for smoother navigation
9). Scalability for adding new subjects and modules
10). Extended vision towards an AR/VR-powered learning ecosystem
11) 3D planets AR book for immersive exploration of the solar system
12) Comparative 3D visualization of planets to study differences in size, atmosphere, and surface features
