LINGROV

LINGROV

Just say "Get an apple from the fridge" and have our NLP Based Robot go fetch it for you. With our robotic arm, you simply speak to it.

The problem LINGROV solves

The project mainly targets the elderly and disabled citizens who depend on others for various day-to-day activities. Getting medicines from somewhere, or fetching literally anything, is now made easy, thanks to LINGROV. They often face challenges in performing daily tasks and managing their healthcare needs independently, which can lead to a reduced quality of life and increased healthcare costs. One of the primary challenges faced by the elderly and disabled population is mobility impairment.

The proposed NLP-based robotic arm solution can help address this challenge by providing a more intuitive and accessible way for these individuals to interact with their environment. By using natural language commands, users can control the robotic arm to perform tasks such as picking up objects or opening doors, without needing to physically manipulate the device. This can significantly improve their ability to perform daily tasks and maintain their independence, ultimately leading to a better quality of life.

Another challenge faced by the elderly and disabled population is healthcare management. These individuals often have complex healthcare needs that require regular monitoring and treatment, which can be challenging to manage independently. This can lead to missed appointments, medication errors, and a general lack of engagement with healthcare services.
The proposed NLP-based robotic arm solution can help address this challenge by providing a more integrated and personalized approach to healthcare management.

Challenges we ran into

Finding a perfect robotic arm that can balance the weight along with the chassis we have built is hard but we finally ended up with the Hiwonder LeArm which has a good grip and weight ratio.

The biggest challenge in this project could be the complexity of integrating NLP models and OpenCV for the robotic arm but we have found several easy-to-use libraries and plugins for the process.

The robotic arm will require a continuous power supply to operate, which can be a challenge if it needs to be moved to different locations or used in areas with limited power supply but having a battery supply that is portable is easy to find.
