The problem LingoLearn solves
LingoLearn is a language learning app that aims to address the common challenges faced by individuals trying to learn new languages. Many people encounter difficulties when attempting to acquire a new language, such as limited access to quality language education, lack of structured learning materials, and difficulty maintaining motivation over time. Additionally, traditional language learning methods may not offer personalized learning experiences or flexibility to accommodate different learning styles.
Challenges we ran into
Oh so many. One bug took an hour, but anyways we learned a lot. Some of the mind-boggling challenges:
Using AI, choosing which AI to use to english evaluation. We finally settled on AI21 studio because it's free and has what we wanted
Learning FastAPI for a simple backend
Building Grammarly style UI # We worked really hard on this, glad how it turned out :)
Learning advanced flutter, complex string interpolation, handling a wide variety of API responses
Learned even more advanced flutter concepts like Riverpod and advanced widgets etc..

Speech evaluation and score evaluation # again something we are proud of!
Session-based learning approach for simple and easy english learning which is also effective
