This application allows the user to order spare parts from the closest Ashok LeyLand Spare Inventory in the shortest span possible. The app also provides the user with insights such as the nearest PUC Center, Service Center and Petrol Pump, ensuring total health of the Ashok LeyLand vehicle. This results in decreased pollution as this app will make sure each Ashok LeyLand vehicle has it’s PUC check done. There will be decreased carbon footprint as the vehicle life will be increased and tonnes energy wasted in producing vehicles will be saved. A very special feature of our app is that it keeps caching the contact details of the closest inventory at regular intervals. This allows the user to contact Ashok LeyLand in case of emergency even in the absence of internet connection. The sustainability aspect gives brownie points to the firm allowing it to save on taxes.
This app improves efficiency and machine uptime drastically and makes happy Ashok LeyLand users.
We ran into the technical difficulty of accessing Places API from Google Maps due to inability to set up a billing account that requires international payments. Another shortcomings were working on the updated Android version while most dependencies are still not updated, inability to retrieve real world inventory data from Ashok LeyLand and not being able to test the developed application in the real world ground. Nevertheless, the building process was fun and despite the hurdles, we built a really awesome project.
