Learn, Earn, Thrive: Turning education into student assets
The problem Learnhattan solves
Despite the availability of millions of resources for learning to code, 75 percent of students start learning but never finish. The completion rate for online tech courses is very low. The current edtech scenario merely replicates offline schools online, lacking innovation. Meanwhile, the Web3 ecosystem requires developers for growth, and learners need Web3 content.
What if learners could get paid for learning? Here comes Learnhattan, where learning is monetized by turning courses into assets, enabling learners to earn rewards for their learning efforts. With the help of gamification and tokenization, we make this possible. Students can earn while learning, and they can also become contributors to receive bigger incentives. By making their courses assets, learners can benefit in various ways, such as staking, in-app purchases, and real money.
Challenges we ran into
Uncontrolled Route: One of our routes had an open-ended design, causing it to continuously trigger database requests. This led to exceeding the threshold limit of connectivity in MongoDB, impacting the performance of our application.
Complex Architecture: Designing a compatible architecture based on our model was challenging. We had to create 7-8 schema models in the backend, all of which were interconnected with each other. Managing these interdependencies while ensuring scalability and efficiency posed significant hurdles.
Slow Rendering: We faced issues with slow rendering, which resulted in a sluggish website experience for users. Optimizing rendering speed and improving website performance proved to be a daunting task, requiring careful analysis and implementation of optimizations.
Token Flow:Developing the LHT token posed a significant challenge for us. We needed to create a robust token system that seamlessly facilitated its flow across our platform, ensuring equitable distribution among students, contributors, and tutors.
Achieving compatibility in token flow was crucial. We aimed to design a system that could efficiently manage the distribution of LHT tokens to various stakeholders while maintaining transparency and fairness. This required meticulous planning and implementation to ensure smooth and reliable token transactions throughout the platform
One of our blockchain developers couldn't join us at the EthMumbai event due to an emergency. Despite this setback, we managed to integrate blockchain into our platform on our own.
