The problem Kubi solves
In today's Web2 ecosystem, donations to content creators are often hampered by centralized platforms that limit freedom and transparency. Creators can only rely on third-party services that hold funds temporarily, limit currency options, and lack transparency in transaction flows. Meanwhile, supporters face friction when they want to show their support. The main issues include:
1️⃣ Centralized & Non-Transparent
- Web2 donation platforms such as Ko-fi or local services (Trakteer, Saweria) are centralized – donations are held by intermediaries. This flow is less transparent and prone to delays; creators have to wait for disbursement, and supporters do not see the flow of funds behind the scenes. Full reliance on the platform, even though the platform can take cuts or hold funds without public oversight.
2️⃣ Limited Donation Options
- Many conventional platforms do not support crypto at all (only fiat such as USD transfers). Even if they do, the options are very limited – for example, only accepting 1-2 tokens such as USDC/USDT. As a result, donors are forced to exchange their assets for the limited options provided. This creates additional friction; supporters must go through the hassle of adapting instead of using the assets they already own.
3️⃣ Lack of Global Access
- Because they rely on fiat currencies or local payment methods, Web2 platforms limit their support reach. International fans face cross-border payment obstacles, conversion fees, or are even unable to donate at all if their country is not supported. This prevents creators from fully embracing their global community.
4️⃣ Limited Donation Monetization
- In traditional schemes, after creators receive donations, the funds are passively stored in their accounts or wallets. There is no automatic mechanism to grow the value of these donations. This means that opportunities to increase creators' income from accumulated funds are wasted. Kubi solves this problem with its innovative Auto-Yield feature, which automatically channels donation tokens into the DeFi lending protocol on the Base network to generate passive income for creators. Thus, each donation not only has value when it is given, but can continue to grow over time.
Our Solutions
Kubi is present on the Base network to address this problem with a trustless and open donation solution. With Kubi, the donation process is non-custodial and permissionless—meaning funds flow directly to the creator's wallet without being held by intermediaries, eliminating the need for middlemen to control funds or require special permissions.
Additionally, Kubi offers full flexibility: supporters can freely donate using any ERC-20 tokens they hold, the system automatically converts those tokens into the creator's preferred currency, and smart maximizes financial benefits by generating yield automatically.
Everything happens on-chain on Base, making it transparent and publicly traceable. In essence, Kubi simplifies life for creators and supporters with unlimited, intermediary-free, and hassle-free donations, blending the convenience of Web2 with the trust of Web3 within the Base Network ecosystem.
Challenges we ran into
Building a flexible Web3-based donation platform is not without its challenges. As a team, we faced two crucial aspects: technical challenges in realizing a multi-token donation mechanism with auto-swap, and UX challenges to ensure a smooth user experience for creators who are accustomed to the Web2 realm.
1️⃣ Multi-Token Auto-Swap Integration:
- We needed to design a smart contract capable of handling donations in any token and automatically swapping those tokens to the creator's preferred main token. This implementation is complex—it requires integrating a DEX protocol (we utilized Uniswap V2 on the Base network for automatic on-chain swaps). The challenge is that the contract must be able to quickly recognize if the tokens sent by supporters are different from the creator's preferred tokens. If they are different, the Kubi contract will call the Uniswap V2 swap function to convert donations in real-time to the creator's main token before sending them to the creator's wallet. We must ensure that this process is fast, secure, and has minimal slippage so that the value of donations is not significantly reduced during conversion.
- Additionally, integrating Uniswap V2 means dealing with the liquidity of various tokens on Base; our challenge was to optimize the algorithm so that it always chooses the most efficient swap path. Through numerous iterations, we successfully embedded this auto-swap feature into Kubi's donation flow without compromising security. As a result, supporters can donate with any token, while creators consistently receive one type of token at the end of the transaction—all happening automatically behind the scenes, as if they were using a regular donation platform but with a Web3 “smart engine” inside.
2️⃣ Maintaining a Creator-Friendly UX for Web2 Creators
- Advanced technology alone is not enough; we recognize that many streamers and creators are still unfamiliar with crypto. The next challenge is to simplify the user experience so that the transition from Web2 platforms to Kubi feels natural. We adopted the principle of “Web2 on the front, Web3 on the back” – meaning that the interface and workflow are made as simple as possible, like conventional donation services, while blockchain technology works behind the scenes.
- For example, the creator onboarding process is designed to be as simple as possible: creators simply connect their wallet (for those who are familiar with Web3). We also developed a familiar dashboard: displaying donation history, notification alerts to be displayed on OBS, and personalization options – all with a modern look that Web2 creators recognize. The technical challenges behind this include wallet integration (using toolkits like RainbowKit to simplify wallet connections) and ensuring low transaction latency on the Base network so donations appear instantly on the streamer's screen.
3️⃣ DeFi Lending Integration for Auto-Yield
- The Auto-Yield feature is a challenging new innovation, as it involves connecting to third-party DeFi protocols such as Aerodrome, Morpho, Compound, and Aave on the Base network. We must design a mechanism so that once donations are received (or after being swapped to the creator's preferred token), the Kubi smart contract can automatically deposit the funds into the lending protocol selected by the creator to start generating interest/yield. The main challenges are ensuring that this integration runs in real time without any noticeable delays, maintaining the security of funds while they are transferred to other protocols, and providing options for creators to easily withdraw funds or change their yield configuration. Coordination between smart contracts across protocols is quite complex and requires a deep understanding of each DeFi protocol.
As a result, even though Kubi runs advanced smart contracts behind the scenes, creators experience a smooth and intuitive UX, as if they were using a regular donation service, but with new flexibility and advantages. We have successfully bridged the Web2-Web3 gap by ensuring that Kubi's advanced technology does not become a barrier for creators or fans—they can simply click and use it, without needing to understand the technical details.

What is your product’s unique value proposition?
Kubi offers a unique value proposition by combining innovative features that are not yet available on other creator donation platforms. Kubi's uniqueness and advantages can be seen in the following key features, which also provide solutions to the problems described above:
🔐 Non-Custodial
-
All donations are sent directly to the creator's wallet. Kubi does not hold any funds—unlike centralized platforms that store balances in internal accounts, on Kubi creators immediately receive their crypto assets in their personal wallets as soon as a donation is made.
-
The advantage for creators is that funds can be used or invested immediately as they wish, without worrying about account freezing or payout delays. Trust is also increased because these on-chain transactions are transparent; both creators and supporters can view proof of donations publicly on the blockchain.
♾️ Flexible – Supports Various ERC-20 Tokens
-
Kubi is highly flexible in accepting different types of assets. Supporters can donate with any ERC-20 token in the Base ecosystem – whether it's popular stablecoins (USDC, DAI), utility tokens from specific projects, or even the community's favorite memecoins. This flexibility makes it easier for supporters: they can simply use the tokens they already have, instead of having to go through the hassle of exchanging them for a specific currency.
-
For creators, this opens up wider donation opportunities because they no longer lose potential donors who are hindered by limited payment options. For example, a fan who only has ABC tokens can still donate those tokens through Kubi, whereas other platforms might reject them.
🔁 Auto-Swap to Creator's Preferred Token
-
Kubi includes an integrated Auto-Swap mechanism via Uniswap V2 on the Base network. This means creators can set their preferred primary token to hold (e.g., many creators choose to receive stablecoins like USDC to avoid volatility). If supporters donate tokens other than the preferred one, Kubi's smart contract automatically performs an on-chain swap: converting the donated tokens to the creator's preferred token in real-time. As a result, creators always receive donations in the assets they desire without having to manually trade after receiving donations.
-
This is a significant added value that saves creators time and effort while protecting the value of donations (for example, if there are donations of volatile tokens, they can be automatically swapped to stablecoins to lock in their value). Everything happens automatically in Kubi's backend, ensuring a seamless user experience.
💸 Auto-Yield (Automatic Passive Income from Donations)
-
This is the latest and unique feature that sets Kubi apart from other platforms. Auto-Yield enables creators to automatically optimize received donations to generate passive income. How it works: once donation tokens are received (or swapped to preferred tokens), Kubi can immediately invest those tokens into integrated lending or yield farming protocols on the Base network, such as Aerodrome, Morpho, Compound, or Aave. Creators simply activate the Auto-Yield option and select their preferred protocol/strategy; the rest is handled by the Kubi system.
-
For example, if a creator selects Aave on Base for auto-yield and receives a donation of 100 USDC, that 100 USDC will automatically be deposited into Aave, where it will begin generating interest based on the applicable APY. Whenever creators want to use the donation funds, they can withdraw them (along with the accumulated yield). The benefits for creators are significant: each donation becomes a “seed” that continues to grow, increasing the creator's income beyond the initial donation amount. This is clearly not possible on traditional donation platforms and is a very strong value proposition of Kubi as a Web3 platform.
Overall, Kubi's unique value proposition lies in the combination of the above features in a single integrated service. Competitors may have some of these elements, but only Kubi offers them all together: full decentralization, cross-token flexibility, automatic conversion, interactive user experience, and DeFi integration for revenue optimization. This makes Kubi not just a donation tool, but a new monetization ecosystem for creators that aligns with Web3 principles.
Who is your target customer?
As a platform at the intersection of live streaming and crypto, Kubi's target users are divided into two main complementary groups:
1️⃣ Content Creators and Streamers
Our main focus is on individual creators on various platforms (Twitch, YouTube Live, Kick, Facebook Gaming, TikTok Live, etc.) who live stream or produce content with a loyal audience community. Moreover, creators in the gaming, technology, blockchain, and digital art segments tend to be more familiar with or interested in the world of crypto, making them an ideal initial target. Kubi provides significant value for creators who want to monetize their content in a more independent, fair, and innovative way. For example:
-
Game streamers on Twitch who have relied on fiat donations (with platform deductions) can now receive direct support in crypto from a global audience.
-
Crypto educators or NFT content creators whose audience is crypto-savvy can utilize Kubi so that their supporters can donate directly with their favorite tokens.
-
Digital artists or indie musicians performing live online, who may struggle to receive international payments through conventional banking, can receive global donations via Kubi without any barriers.
2️⃣ Supporters/Donors (Audience)
Although they are not the “primary users” who register, the success of the donation platform also depends on the ease of use for supporters. Our target audience is viewers or fans who want to support their favorite creators with crypto. Many of them may already hold crypto assets as investments or hobbies, and Kubi provides an opportunity to meaningfully utilize those assets to support the people they admire. Demographically, this could include:
-
Tech-savvy fans who are familiar with crypto wallets and want a more advanced donation experience than simply sending money via credit card.
-
Crypto enthusiasts active on platforms like X (Twitter) or Discord, who frequently watch Web3 content and are not hesitant to give “crypto tips” to content creators.
-
Even general viewers who don't yet own crypto can be educated: for example, with simple guides on buying stablecoins on Coinbase/Base and then donating on Kubi, so that indirectly we can also serve as an entry point for crypto adoption among new audiences.
In other words, Kubi aims to create a creator-audience ecosystem that benefits both parties through Web3. Content creators gain access to a new and improved monetization medium, while audiences gain a broader and more exciting way to show their support (for example, they can donate using unique tokens they like, or see their donations make a long-term impact through yield).
Who are your closest competitors and how are you different?
We recognize that both in the Web2 and Web3 spheres, there are already services that try to facilitate donations for creators. Here are some of the closest competitors or alternatives, as well as an explanation of how Kubi differs and excels compared to them:
🌐 Traditional Web2 Donation Platforms (Patreon, Twitch/YouTube Donations, Saweria/Trakteer):
- These platforms dominate the current creator donation market. However, their approach is centralized and fiat-only. They take significant commissions (e.g., Patreon ~5-12%, YouTube Superchat 30%, local platforms also charge per transaction fees). Additionally, creators must wait for payout schedules, and there are often geographical restrictions (supporters in certain countries cannot donate due to payment constraints).
- Kubi is drastically different: we do not take large cuts—only minimal gas fees and small, transparent platform fees. Donations are peer-to-peer on-chain, making them instant and global. Compared to Patreon and others, Kubi puts financial control in the hands of creators and opens access to funding from the global crypto community, which is inaccessible to traditional fiat platforms. Additionally, there is no risk of censorship or account suspension on Kubi because everything runs on a decentralized network.
💳 Crypto Payment Services for Donations (examples: yapp.ink, deStream)
These are services that bridge crypto with donations. For example, yapp.ink & deStream provides crypto payment in USDT/USDC or several token options. However, Kubi has key differences:
-
First, Kubi is completely non-custodial—some similar services still require creators to create accounts and hold funds in their app wallets before withdrawing. At the same time, Kubi goes directly to the creator's personal wallet (more secure and trustless).
-
Second, DeFi (Auto-Yield) integration is not yet available on these competitor platforms. Kubi combines donations and automated investing to bring a unique advantage.
-
Third, Kubi focuses on the Base ecosystem for cost efficiency and speed; this means we can optimize services on one powerful L2 (supported by Coinbase) for a seamless user experience (e.g., gas fees on Base are very low compared to Ethereum mainnet, making micro-donations feasible without high costs). Other services may operate on more expensive chains or without close integration with a single ecosystem, resulting in higher costs and complexity.
-
Finally, community focus: Kubi was built by and for the builder/Web3 community, and we plan to open-source some of our technology and involve the community in feature development. This community approach sets us apart from our more closed corporate competitors.
In short, no direct competitors are offering a complete package like Kubi. Some have similar puzzle pieces, but Kubi excels in its comprehensive integration: non-custodial + multi-token + auto-swap + real-time alerts + auto-yield. This gives us a competitive edge that is difficult to match, as competitors would have to catch up on multiple fronts simultaneously to be on par. Beyond features, we also emphasize ease of use and a focus on the creator community, so it is expected that Kubi will be adopted and trusted more quickly by its target users compared to other solutions that are more general or limited in scope.
What is your distribution strategy and why?
To ensure that Kubi not only excels as a product but also successfully reaches users, we have developed a comprehensive distribution and marketing strategy. Our approach includes various initiatives, with consideration of the “why” behind each step, as follows:
🛠️Web3 and Builder Communities
- Our first strategy is to leverage connections within the Web3 community (Discord, Telegram, Crypto Twitter) and builder forums to promote Kubi as a new solution. We will share Kubi's development story dan feature demos. Our first target user definitely is the Web3 community because they tend to be enthusiastic about adopting and spreading new tools, especially if they are open-source and created by fellow builders. By involving them from the start (e.g., inviting several Web3 creators for beta testing), we gain evangelists who will help validate and promote Kubi to their networks.
🎨 Early Adopter Creators Campaign
- Secondly, we recruit several pioneering content creators (ideally those who are already familiar with crypto) to become early users of Kubi. For example, we target 5-10 well-known streamers in the crypto/gaming niche to integrate Kubi into their streams, offering incentives such as free platform fees for a certain period, personal technical assistance with setup, or even matching donations (we provide additional donations for every donation they receive as a bonus). We can also collaborate with these creators to make content (YouTube reviews, blogs) about their experience using Kubi.
- The success of a new product in the creator space heavily relies on social proof. When well-known creators demonstrate that they use Kubi and gain tangible benefits (e.g., “Look, my income increased by X% because of auto-yield on Kubi”), this triggers FOMO and interest among other creators and their fans. These early adopters become living case studies that prove Kubi's value.
🤝Integration with Supporting Platforms
- Then, we collaborate or integrate Kubi with tools already used by creators. For example, creating an official OBS plugin or easy-to-install widget so that even non-technical creators can add Kubi alerts to their streams with just a few clicks. If Kubi becomes an optional plugin in OBS or is listed in the Twitch extension marketplace (e.g., as a “crypto donation overlay”), creators will see it as part of their workflow, not something separate.
👥 Referral Strategy and Affiliate Program
- Next, we launch a referral program where creators who invite other creators will receive rewards, as will new creators who join (e.g., bonuses in the form of gas fee credits or exclusive NFT badges as top donors). Also, consider collaborating with e-sports communities or gaming guilds and offering them deals if they encourage their members to use Kubi.
- We believe that word-of-mouth is very powerful among creators. Many creators are interconnected and share tips and tools with each other. With the referral program, we provide direct incentives for such behavior, creating an organic viral effect. Meanwhile, partnerships with organizations that have many creators can accelerate adoption on a group scale, not just individually, especially if supported by financial benefits for the organization.
🌟 Social Media Optimization & Brand Persona
- We manage Kubi's official accounts on social media platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok) with a friendly, humorous, yet informative persona that is closely aligned with streamer culture. For example, posting highlight clips of streamers who have received unique donations through Kubi, or memes related to crypto donations.
- This personal and community-driven marketing approach is important for building user loyalty. Creators and fans will feel that Kubi is not just an app, but part of their streaming community. With a friendly and entertaining tone, the Kubi brand will be easier to remember and like, so people are more likely to recommend it to their peers.
All of the above strategies are designed with one goal in mind: to drive rapid and widespread adoption of Kubi, while building long-term trust. We believe that with a product as powerful as Kubi, a targeted marketing approach, and community support, Kubi can become the new gold standard for donation platforms in the Web3 era.
