Krishify app

Fresh food: from Farms to your Family This app tries to: 1)Make farm products directly available to consumers, reducing loss in quality 2)Guide farmers in every possible phase of farming for profit

The problem Krishify app solves

Our app has 2 interfaces; one for customer and other for farmer.

At farmer's end, it tries to provide every possible guidance needed in the process of farming for maximizing the produce and profit, like:
*Guidance about crop cycles of different crops: the best season and time to grow them, precautions to be taken etc.
*Weather forecasting
*Market rates of different crops in different states
*Informtion about government schemes for farmers, locations of nearest soil testing labs etc
*Remedial measures to be taken in case any defects in crops occur
*Charts and statistics about previous years' growth and demand of different crops
*Use of OCR to get information about things bought for farming like-pesticides, fertilizers etc

At customer's end:
*It helps them get farm products at genuine rates
*It provides them with fresh farm produce
*Use of object detection to try checking the quality of products delivered

This is made possible as follows:
The user(either farmer or consumer) needs to sign up at the starting screen and is registered uniquely using phone number. Then, the consumer gets the option to locate different farmers near him/her with images of samples of their products uploaded.
Now, using a chat window and with assistance of chatbot, order for products can be placed and farmer with the help of self help groups, can process and deliver their products directly to nearby costumers.

The problems being solved are:

  1. Rottening of crops and farm products due to storage for very long time in warehouses
  2. Bad economic condition and poverty of farmers due to presence of large number of mediators in the selling and processing of crops
3)Lack of knowledge about new agricultural techniques and awareness about different agricultural schemes in farmers
  3. Large amounts of money paid by customers for getting the farm products due to the number of people involved in the process of product reaching to them

Challenges we ran into

One problem was linking of locations of various soil testing centres and different markets (for current market rates) with the app.
It was resolved using some APIs.
