The Krishi Suraksha project aims to solve the problem of Indian farmers suffering due to drought and flood, to the extent of committing suicide. Despite the government's efforts to provide solutions, the problem remains unsolved. Farmers face challenges in accessing reliable and affordable insurance, and often end up relying on centralized systems that are prone to corruption and unethical practices. This project provides a decentralized trustless insurance platform for farmers, allowing them to contribute insurance premiums in stablecoins and receive automatic payouts when affected by events like drought or flood. By eliminating the need for farmers to trust any centralized authority, the platform provides a transparent, immutable, and tamper-proof system.Overall, the project aims to empower Indian farmers and improve their livelihoods by providing a reliable insurance platform.
Blockchain scalability: One of the main technical challenges of building a decentralized insurance platform was scalability. Blockchain networks such as Ethereum have limited capacity, and the high transaction fees and slow processing times may make it difficult to handle a large number of insurance claims in real-time.
User experience and adoption: Designing a user-friendly interface and ensuring a seamless user experience was a big hurdle in adoption of the platform.
