The problem Kootu solves

Autistic children face the most problems when it comes to communication, they are often not able to express themselves. What Kootu does is provide a provision for parents to photograph items like food, family members or any other category and save a voice recording of the name of the dish, names of each member and their relationship etc. The child is given the app from where he/she can select an option based on the visual representation and the audio is played. This helps them register an image of the same in their mind and at the same time learn from the audio played in the voice of someone they are familiar has added advantage. Kootu is currently in development with the basic version of the app ready for display and testing.

Challenges I ran into

Lack of data during the initial stages of the project on the specific problems faced by the children. This was solved when we visited an Autism Center in our locality.
