The problem KAL solves

KAL addresses a missed opportunity in the school sportswear ecosystem. While schools, parents, and students already purchase uniforms every year, those purchases deliver no added value beyond clothing. KAL turns an existing, recurring activity into a connected, rewarding, and transparent experience, without changing how schools operate.
What people use KAL for:
Students use KAL to track school activities, complete missions, and earn rewards from things they already do (PE classes, sports, quizzes, events).
Schools use KAL to modernize their sports programs, engage students, and distribute incentives or scholarships in a transparent, measurable way.
Parents benefit from clear visibility into participation and rewards, with stable, predictable value through IDRX-based rewards.
How it makes existing tasks easier and safer:
Converts offline school activities into verifiable onchain records, reducing manual tracking.
Automates reward and incentive distribution, removing bias and paperwork.
Uses stablecoins to ensure safe, predictable value instead of speculative tokens.
Onboards users seamlessly, without requiring crypto knowledge.
KAL doesn’t ask schools to change their behavior, it simply adds a digital and onchain layer that makes everyday school activities more meaningful, measurable, and rewarding.
Challenges I ran into
One of the first challenges was figuring out how to connect and register a real-world asset (RWA)—the school jersey—into the app in a way that is feasible, scalable, and easy for schools and students. Jerseys are physical, used daily, and must work in real environments without adding friction. After exploring several options, we found that combining NFC tags embedded in the jersey with a QR code fallback was the most practical solution. NFC enables fast, seamless onboarding and authentication for supported devices, while QR codes ensure inclusivity for students whose phones do not support NFC.
Another challenge was planning the stablecoin integration, specifically with IDRX, to support payments, monetization, and reward distribution. While we haven’t fully implemented IDRX yet, we’ve already designed the system architecture so that sales revenue and sponsorship funds can flow into an IDRX-based reward pool in future iterations. This allows us to move fast with an MVP while keeping the path clear for compliant, stable, and user-friendly financial integration in the next development phase.
Finally, due to limited time before submission, some features in the current build may not be fully stable or working as intended. We prioritized demonstrating the core concept and end-to-end flow rather than polishing every edge case. We are fully committed to continuing development and, if selected, will ensure the product is stable, complete, and ready for a full presentation on February 7th.
