Tracking food orders for small businesses.
The problem Jiffly solves
Cities and towns of India have seen a stark rise in fast food startups managed by teams of just 2-5 people. As avid foodies, we rely on these guys to satiate our appetite on any given day. However, we have noticed a pattern: small startups like these face immense stress when dealing with a busy day of customers placing order after order. Trying to keep track of what order to deliver, what orders are pending, and what orders need priority, is a pretty monumental task given how few resources they have. Not to mention, since they are just starting out, having access to software that lessens this burden is not sold commercially, leading most of these businesses to use just a plain old notebook and pen to keep track of their daily sales and current queue. This is incredibly inconvenient and unreliable, and we knew there is something we could do about it.
Jiffly allows a store to go cashier-less! By just scanning a QR code, customers are taken to a website that displays everything that the store has to offer. Customers can place orders and pay directly through this web app without ever having to disturb the small group of entrepreneurs that are running the store. The shop owner then simply has to cook up some good food, call out the order number assigned by the app for the customer, and deliver their product stress-free!
Alternatively, stores can also choose to have a cashier that inputs orders on behalf of the customer, in case they find the former idea a bit too outlandish!
Jiffly not only handles a queue of orders, but also displays the store's approximate financial metrics in a neatly organized dashboard, so that you never have to manually input numbers into a calculator ever again!
The goal of this application is to provide a user experience for small fast food startups that makes them ditch their pen and paper in favor of a much more reliable method of tracking orders and sales.
