The problem Jeevika solves

Technology has always enabled us to get various high profile corporate and public sector jobs through several online job application platforms.
During the pandemic, these platforms served as a boon for a large section of society, leaving aside a fairly larger section that depends on daily wages as their primary source of income.
When COVID-19 was at its pinnacle, almost 80% of India’s informal daily wage workers, cleaners, maids, etc lost their source of livelihood.
On the other hand, due to the prohibition of public gatherings, employers lost their workers and in turn suffered heavy losses in their businesses.
To counter this issue we developed JEEVIKA, an Android App.

Challenges we ran into

The OTP generation and then its confirmation was a pretty tedious task also implementing a timer for detection of expiration of OTP was very crucial. Getting all the previously allotted jobs in the feed was also time taking but we were able to solve them all.
Learning Cloud Firestore for using it in our app for this hackathon was also new to us as we had to learn it from scratch.
