The problem Jarvis solves

We are in an era where consumers have been habituated to technology. So, we have come up with a thoughtful and smart product that would bring home a better tomorrow. Here we introduce Jarvis, a hand free assistant which can be used as a device for understanding your body gestures and acting accordingly. A virtual mouse was used for attaining this purpose. It is a virtual personal assistance system rather than being a complete hand free assistance on navigation. As the device is built-in with a projector system, it makes it very convenient for the users to get visual output rather than audio output alone. This would be a better solution for the bedridden and people with disabilities because they are the ones whose body gestures need to be continuously monitored. This solves the problem of inaccurate voice recognition. Also, setting specific gestures for each tasks can make the work easy for people whose sound are not often recognized by the voice assistants and for the dumb. Jarvis also acts as a security system, as it records the visuals on it and will inform the users by audio and video warnings if any danger is being detected. Along with it, an email to the linked mail ID is sent. Even though the device is virtual, it has a personal touch. It is a device that assists you in the fastest way possible.

Challenges we ran into

One of the most important features for a virtual assistant is voice assistance and to provide us with information that we seek. But the main hurdle while building the project was on getting input voice in raspberry pi. This was due to the inability of the raspberry pi to take audio input using Python language. So we had to use javascript in the project. Javascript was thus integrated with it to understand and recognise the audio input to provide us with the required results whether it be a weather report, news or time. Other issues we faced were the common issues while coding and some total system malfunctionings.
