A reliable assistance system for blind people On as well as Off Road
The problem iVISION solves
Visually impaired population is over 300 million worldwide and 40% experience head accidents at least once a year and our tool will be crucial in making life a bit hassle-free for them, assisting people in traveling safely. The other option is to use acoustic systems in all the crossings which are not feasible. and with the potential our tool has, we will be able to provide them the assistance they need.
Challenges we ran into
Training the model was the most difficult and overlooked part of any ML project, we used the open source Tiny-YoloV3 weights available online. Apart from that, deploying them using NGROK, and conversion to .tflite were some of the problems we had. We were able to successfully navigate through some while having to take a detour for the rest due to time constraints
