The problem Ingrid - 3D rental platform ! solves

Our solution INGRID uses Augmented Reality to offer a virtual simulation of the Property. It makes visiting various apartments and flats less time-consuming as users can easily view the 3D model of the apartment. Ingrid makes it convenient for customers to operate the rental system without time wastage.

Ingrid lists real estate properties available for rent, lease or housing facilities in the desired locations according to your budget preferability. Users can view the 3D models of the selected property through AR and experience the flavor of technology. Challenges we ran into

We ran into various problems such as:

1. Because none of the team members were familiar with the backend, figuring out the entire part was a major challenge for us. We initially built the backend in Firebase version 8, but it did not allow authenticated users to sign in. We had to completely switch to Firebase version 9 and again write the code for it.

2. Building the 3D models of properties on Unity took more than half of the hackathon time. Initially, the AR core package in Unity didn’t work for us. Even when we built the APK for the rental system, the app was very inconsistent.

3. Approximately 20 builds (APK) were made in the whole process with sizes of more than 100MB.

4. Building and running such heavy files in Unity and integrating them into the website was another challenge for us. We tried to compress the APK but couldn’t reduce it much. The only way out we could think of was to integrate the website and the APK using drive links.

5. Building the project from scratch, we faced a time crunch since the AR part of the project took most of the time. We integrated a map as a location feature to enable the users to compare ad choose the best location.
