The increasing amount of electronic waste generated globally is a major environmental and public health concern. Improper disposal of e-waste leads to the release of hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium into the environment, posing a threat to human health and the ecosystem which can negatively impact progress towards SDG 14 (life below water), SDG 15 (life on land), and SDG 3 (good health and well-being). The increase in e-waste generation puts pressure on SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production), which aims to reduce waste generation and promote sustainable consumption and production patterns. Finally, e-waste can contribute to social and economic inequalities. Workers involved in the informal e-waste recycling sector often face health risks from handling toxic materials and are often underpaid and lack basic protections. This can perpetuate poverty and social inequities, which undermines SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), and SDG 10 (reduced inequalities). Therefore there is a need for sustainable and efficient e-waste management strategies that prioritize responsible disposal, refurbishment, and recycling of electronic devices to minimize the environmental and health impact of e-waste.
We are beginners so we faced difficulties in implementing modern technologies in our project. We planned to use GPT 4 API but it wasn't viable.
