The problem Incognance solves
Improving Governance with Incognance
Traditional systems obscure transparency, and Web3, while clear, adds complexity as in a DAO. DAOs rely on governance tokens, and in a "weightless" voting system, anyone can vote from various accounts to skew the results. This can be replaced by a credential-based system where a central issuer can issue credentials to trusted individuals that are used to authorize voting. The aim is to design a Web 2.0-like user experience with Web3's decentralization features, incorporating zero-knowledge (zk) technology for voter privacy. Enter Incognance!
Universal Applicability
This product serves a generic purpose and can be used by anyone—from an MNC's Board of Directors making business decisions to a university-level Student Council election and even hackers at a hackathon voting for their favourite protocols😉. All three are examples of a "weightless" system where each vote is valued equally.
Use Case Example
Scenario: A university wants to conduct student council elections and wants the results to be tamper-proof and transparent.
- The admin creates a voting session on Incognance and adds the proposed candidates.
- The admin issues credentials to eligible students using Polygon ID.
- All students then vote for their desired candidates.
- The results are announced and are verifiable on-chain.
Challenges we ran into
Trouble integrating Polygon ID due to lack of mentor and proper documentation - fellow hackers helped out
Dapp Launchpad npm package was private and wouldn't install - made public by the mentor
Couldn't improve UX due to time constraints
