A secure and structured marketplace for students and faculty to buy, sell, and exchange items on campus.
The problem IIT Mandi marketplace solves
- Many students, faculty, and staff rely on social media or word of mouth to buy, sell, or exchange items like textbooks, electronics, and services. This method is inefficient and lacks security.
- The Campus Marketplace App provides a centralized, structured, and secure platform for listings, communication, and transactions, fostering a trusted community.
Challenges I ran into
- Firebase Authentication Issues: Faced difficulties setting up Firebase authentication. Solved it by carefully checking the Firebase config and enabling email/password sign-in.
- Expo Go App QR Scanner Issues: Sometimes the Expo QR scanner didn’t work properly. Restarted the Expo server and reinstalled Expo Go.
