The problem sp3akUP solves

sp3akUP provides a secure and anonymous space for victims of harassment to create an unchangeable record of their experience when they feel most vulnerable. It makes the daunting task of reporting fundamentally safer by using the Oasis Sapphire blockchain to guarantee that the report is cryptographically confidential and tamper-proof; only the user can decrypt and control their data. It also makes the process easier by using an empathetic AI assistant to guide the user through creating a clear, chronological report, removing the mental burden of starting from a blank page.

Furthermore, we've eliminated the biggest barrier to Web3 adoption by implementing a gasless transaction system. This means a user in distress doesn't need to own or understand cryptocurrency to secure their story on the blockchain. They can simply sign a free message, making the platform accessible to everyone and providing a trusted first step towards seeking justice.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was ensuring a seamless user experience despite the asynchronous nature of the blockchain. Initially, after a user submitted a report, their list of past reports wouldn't update immediately because the UI was checking for new data too soon. We've identified this as a key area for future enhancement and have mapped out the implementation of the onBlockConfirmation callback to create a perfectly reliable and responsive experience.
We also faced a significant hurdle integrating our externally developed smart contract with the Scaffold-ETH 2 frontend. The framework is optimized for an internal workflow, leading to a series of "Module not found" and "Target contract not deployed" errors. We overcame this by meticulously tracing the framework's import paths and manually creating the necessary contract definition files (deployedContracts.ts and externalContracts.ts). This taught us a valuable lesson in how modern DApp frameworks handle contract integration and forced us to gain a deeper understanding of our tools.
