The problem Hostel Room Allocation System solves

The current system for hostel room allocation in most colleges is manual. Students have to visit the campus on a specific day to fill out forms and submit them to the management office. They then stand in a queue to collect their allocation token and are finally allotted a room. There is no proper procedure for selecting a room of choice, nor is there a structural process to allocate rooms randomly. Coordinating with preferred roommates is a hectic and offline process, and e-mails for registering hostel accommodation can have a delay from person to person. A modern hostel room allocation system can streamline this process and make it more efficient for students.

Challenges we ran into

We had quite a few challenges while building the system, some of them are listed as follows:

1. Had weak internet connection throughout the hackathon.
2. Some technical difficulties while working with new technologies.
3. Improving the functionalities and implementing new ones took more time than we planned.
