Because Every House Has A Past

The problem HomeFax solves

Homebuyers, investors, and lenders often struggle with incomplete, inaccurate, or inaccessible property histories, leading to unexpected repair costs, hidden legal issues, and fraudulent transactions. Traditional real estate records are fragmented across multiple databases, prone to manipulation, and require expensive manual verification.
HomeFax simplifies property research by providing a comprehensive, verifiable history of any home—including ownership records, past renovations, title status, and environmental risks —all stored securely on a tamper-proof blockchain ledger. HomeFax empowers buyers to make informed decisions by eliminating uncertainty and streamlining due diligence, protects lenders from hidden liabilities, and ensures seamless, secure property transactions.

User Interaction and Data Flow

User Interaction
1. Onboarding

Users sign up via social media authentication (OAuth, Google Login), linking their accounts and wallets.

The user is automatically connected to their wallet for secure access and management.

2. Protocol Interaction via DAO

Users access the HomeFaxDAO for decentralized governance.

Proposals for modifying protocol settings are submitted and voted on, with decisions implemented through smart contracts on the Base blockchain.

3. Content Management

Users upload or access content stored in a decentralized manner via EthStorage.

All data is immutable, ensuring security and preventing tampering.

4. On-Chain Transactions

Users can perform single-click actions, such as token transfers, using the Okto SDK and session keys.

Delegated access is provided through session keys, enabling secure transactions without full wallet access.

5. Immutable Records

All interactions, proposals, content uploads, and transactions are recorded on the blockchain, ensuring transparency and data immutability.

Data Flow

Onboarding: OAuth/Google login initiates user session and links wallets.

DAO: Proposals and votes interact with smart contracts on Base.

Content: Content is uploaded to EthStorage, ensuring secure, immutable storage.

Transactions: Okto SDK manages transactions and session keys, executing actions on the blockchain.

The project architecture and development process

HomeFax is a decentralized platform enabling seamless interaction with on-chain content, leveraging Web3 technologies like DAO governance and smart contracts deployed on the Base blockchain. It focuses on decentralized content management, immutable records, and enhanced user experience.

Key Features

DAO Governance: HomeFax is governed by Decent DAO, allowing decentralized decision-making and proposal creation for modifying protocol settings.

Smart Contract Deployment: Deployed on the Base blockchain (Goerli testnet), handling core platform functionalities.

Web3 Integration: Utilizes Web3:// (ERC-4804) for decentralized access to content, eliminating reliance on traditional HTTP.

Seamless Onboarding: Supports social media authentication (OAuth, Google Login) for effortless user entry.

Immutable Documentation: Ensures that records remain secure and tamper-proof.

Okto SDK: Used for managing session keys and enabling single-click on-chain transactions like token transfers.

Architecture

Frontend: Deployed on AWS S3 for public access, interacting with Base smart contracts.

Smart Contracts: Manage protocol settings and user actions on the Base blockchain.

DAO: Decentralized governance via Decent DAO for transparent protocol management.

Decentralized Storage: Content is stored securely on EthStorage.

Okto SDK & Session Keys: For delegated access and on-chain transactions.

Future Enhancements

Protocol Templates: To streamline future proposals.

Expanded Integrations: Potential integration with Basenames, OnchainKit, and Smart Wallet.

Product Integrations

We intend to interate with OpenAI API

Key differentiators and uniqueness of the project

We provide the entire history of the house inspections for a property that saves tons of time for consumers and it monetizes the house inspector and the owner of the report.

Trade-offs and shortcuts while building

We did not integrate the GPT Agent (4-Turbo) that analyzes the contract, summarizes it, and answers specific requests related to the estimated costs for repair, negotiation tips, timeline to get the repairs done, and the environmental risks.
