Proof of Engagement in an app or website can be used as a reward/scoring mechanism to incentivize users to use a platform.
The problem HiU's - Proof of Engagement (PoE) Game solves
Such proofs can be generated when a user opens the app or website and uses public entropy created by some network such as block hashes and runs a hash-cash like hashing algorithm on the entropy to find nonces that produce certain hashes.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into problems with converting hexadecimal strings into base64. While strings in base64 encoding should include all characters A-Za-z, during testing some characters only show up in lowercase/uppercase variants, such as the letter a or H due to the way ASCII works. We wanted all messages transferred to start with the letters HiU in base64 and this mapping did not allow us to get the right characters for most of the SHA256 hashes. We believe the issue could be fixed by adding a number to the hex string and then converting to base64
