Vandalism is an issue currently affecting a number of World Heritage properties. The term may refer to many types of property damage, such as graffiti, rubbish dumping, smashing off pieces of heritage, or defacement of other kinds. Our design, the HeritageShield, encapsulates the whole monument using high-tech IR sensors and vibration sensors that can detect vandalism and any destruction caused to the site. Using AI face detection technology, appropriate legal action can be taken against the offenders. We are also trying to further strengthen this system by using text recognition systems for accurate and precise detections
When we first started working on the project, we realized that our project has to be extremely accurate to be able to penalize the offenders so that an innocent person was not charged, thus we could not rely on just ultrasonic and IR sensors, and thus we added vibration sensors for enhanced security, we are also working on AI systems to further strengthen the process. the "dlib" was down when we were trying to build our project, so we had to start our whole project again to avoid the use of this particular library for the face detection software.
