The problem HelpX | Instant Emergency Alerts solves

• Women and child safety is a critical issue around the world. Despite numerous efforts by governments and non governmental organizations to promote and protect the safety of women and children, there continues to be a rise in crime against them.

• Moreover, with the prevalence of violence against women and children, along with lack of access to education and healthcare services, women and children are more vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

• When stuck in a difficult situation, one of the main issues that victims face is not getting help on time.

• In order to address this issue we require a comprehensive and coordinated approach involving individuals, communities, governments, and non-governmental organizations.

• We have created an application that allows victims to send instant emergency alerts with their live location as a text message to our application's userbase and any registered organizations and law authorities.

• In this way, we connect victims who are in an unpleasant situation to the law authorities and the general public. With this, the public can also contribute to helping the victim by being vigilant for the perpetrators.

• We also display all ongoing alerts that have been registered which can be sorted by location.

• Our website also provides information and resources that could help victims in reporting and getting help.

Challenges we ran into

• We found it challenging to deploy the flask API and generating the alert messages
• We also struggled in deploying our application due to complications faced because of the use of react router
• We had issues in connection between Python(backend) and ReactJs(frontend)
