Challenges we ran into
Challenges We Ran Into
One of the major challenges during development was deploying the backend in a reliable and scalable way.
The backend needed to continuously fetch and process real-time data from Aave smart contracts, which introduced issues around environment configuration, network reliability, and handling long-running processes. Initial deployments failed due to misconfigured environment variables and instability in the Web3 provider connection, causing data sync interruptions.
To overcome this, I refactored the backend to better separate data ingestion and processing, standardized environment configurations, and added proper error handling and retries for on-chain calls. I also tested deployments incrementally and monitored logs closely to quickly identify and fix runtime issues.
This approach resulted in a stable backend deployment capable of handling real-time DeFi data without frequent downtime.
