The problem Group Buying App solves

Buyers love discounts, and shop owners want to sell more. One of the promotion methods is group buying, where buyers agree to make a purchase collectively to receive a discount. The problem is how to guarantee that they will buy once the required number of buyers is reached and how to make the whole process transparent to all participants.

Blockchain technology offers a robust solution in this context. By utilizing smart contracts, blockchain ensures automated execution of purchases upon reaching the required number of buyers. Additionally, blockchain's transparency and immutable ledger provide a trustworthy environment, assuring all participants that the terms of the group buying promotion are fair and adhered to without any manipulation.

Challenges I ran into

The challenge is to integrate the Shopify extension with blockchain technology, as it is not supported out of the box. We resolved this by using frameworks like Remix, which integrates seamlessly with React.js, providing a reliable development environment. From there, we connected to the blockchain network using a JavaScript library like Hardhat, which facilitates the deployment and testing of smart contracts. This combination allowed us to effectively bridge the gap between the Shopify platform and blockchain technology.
