The problem GreenLedger solves

GreenLedger addresses the lack of trust, transparency, and accessibility in the carbon credit market.

• For Corporations & NGOs: Enables verifiable, on-chain purchase and tracking of carbon offsets, reducing the risk of greenwashing.

• For Compliance Teams: Securely stores audit-ready certificates and compliance records in a decentralized vault (SealSafe), eliminating reliance on vulnerable centralised servers.

• For non-crypto users, zkLogin is used to make blockchain onboarding as simple as logging in with Google or Microsoft without compromising privacy.

Challenges we ran into

• Hurdle: Managing session security while transitioning from zkLogin authentication into blockchain transactions without confusing non-crypto users.

• Solution: Designed a guided onboarding flow with progressive disclosure — users first see familiar login options, then are introduced to wallet creation in the background, making the transition seamless.

• Another hurdle was optimising Seal & Walrus storage costs for document-heavy compliance requirements.

• Solution: Implemented selective encryption & compression, storing only critical proofs on-chain and offloading larger encrypted files to Walrus for cost efficiency.
