The problem Ghumante solves

Nepal's tourism industry is really booming, but there are often news of Toursists being discouraged to visit Nepal more often due to the various scams, mis-communication between Tourist and the travel agency of their choice. A toursist faces various challenges due to this approach such as:

• Time Consuming to find accomodations, Local gems, and sights to visit alongside local activities;
• Non personalized recommendations from the existing communities and platforms in the market
• Inflated pricings designed to scam information Lacking toursists;
• Minimal information/ market segmented information curated for tourists;
• Lack of an all-in-one solution for personalized trip observation and planning platform;
• Lack of an platform to connect the Local guides with the toursists without involvement of any middlemen.

By using our platform "Ghumante", tourists will be able to get specialized curated recommendations of places, foods, activities and hidden popular Local gems to any new place you visit, so you get to explore authentically Like a Local, with us.

Ghumante enables you to make a pre-decided plans to your favourite destinations and activities with a favourable of timeline of yours. This helps tourists to plan about the accomodations, sight seeings, the market rates and the different activities that they can participate . The all-in-one solution integrates well with different type of businesses and locals to help tourist get the best experience. Challenges we ran into

While creating this app in this hackathon over the past few days, we hadn't started coding until the second day so that we were able to fully brainstorm our project ideas and perfect it alongside with the business and marketing part of the operation.

Talking about the coding related problems we ran into specificially during the creation of the prototype, some of the ones that we ran into are:

• getting the data of the different places including the exact lat, lng etc.
• calculating distances and operational statuses of different places.
• sync-ing frontend and backend.
• managing coordinate based data in a database using postgis.
• managing states for a complex react (next) application.
• reconfiguring the models as per changed requirements of the project.
