Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

We participate in Based LatAm because we believe that the momentum that this initiative would give us is fundamental to take our project to new levels. We want to be an active part of the transformation process in our community, addressing the challenges faced by artists who are unfamiliar with the blockchain world. Many of them lack the education and tools necessary to navigate the digital environment, which limits their ability to take advantage of the opportunities offered by digital art.
The Base network allows us to leverage existing tools in the blockchain, facilitating access to crucial financial and educational resources for our community. This includes creating digital wallets and understanding blockchainv transactions, ensuring that our users are both creators and informed consumers.
In addition, connecting with other builders in the region is invaluable. Collaborating with innovators in the Base network would enrich our perspectives and open doors. The outreach and marketing support offered by Base is a vital resource to attract the artists we wish to impact.
Through this participation, we aspire to contribute to a movement that promotes digital art in Latin America. With Based LatAm's support, we can develop a model that benefits artists in terms of revenue and fosters a collaborative community that supports creativity. We want to demonstrate that art can be a transformative force in the blockchain world, empowering artists to sell their work effectively and securely.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We are focused on addressing several challenges in our Latin American artist community. One of the main challenges is the distrust of the blockchain world, which manifests itself in the reluctance of many artists to explore and participate in digital art and NFTs. This distrust can stem from a lack of understanding of how blockchain technology works, as well as concerns about security and the possibility of falling for scams.

In addition, many artists lack access to educational resources to help them navigate this new ecosystem, limiting their opportunities for growth and commercialization. Through our collaboration with Base LatAm, we seek not only to break down these barriers of mistrust, but also to provide tools that will enable them to build a better future on the network. We want artists to feel that they have a place in the blockchain space, where they can express themselves, sell their work and, at the same time, be part of a constructive and supportive community.

With Base's support, we also plan to solve real challenges faced by artists, such as the lack of visibility and access to adequate platforms to exhibit and sell their works. In this sense, our proposal seeks to empower artists and create a lasting impact on the digital art ecosystem in Latin America.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Our proposal addresses these challenges by developing a comprehensive educational platform and marketplace for artists. We focus on providing a secure and accessible environment where artists can learn how to use blockchain technology, create digital wallets and sell their work in NFT format. We offer clear tutorials and easy-to-follow resources, guiding artists through every step of the process, allowing them to gain the confidence to actively participate in the blockchain world.

In addition, we have created an integrated pixel art application that simplifies art creation. This tool allows artists to experiment with different styles and techniques directly on the platform, not only empowering their creativity, but also facilitating the creation and listing of works in NFT format in an easy way.

To reinforce our impact, we plan to make alliances with local coworking spaces that will allow us to offer exclusive benefits to artists. Through these partnerships, we seek to create educational spaces where workshops and activities on the use of blockchain tools can be held, as well as exhibitions for artists to showcase their works. These initiatives will not only provide a learning environment, but will also generate incentives for more people to join the digital art ecosystem.

Our potential impact is significant, as we hope to build a community of informed and motivated artists who can effectively sell their work and contribute to the growth of the digital art ecosystem in Latin America. Through Get on Boat, we aspire to change the negative perception around digital art and blockchain, empowering artists to lead their own narrative and become key players within this emerging space.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges has been to simplify blockchain technology to make it accessible to non-technical artists. This includes designing an intuitive interface that facilitates both the creative process and the sale of artwork in a secure environment. However, one of the most complicated aspects has been the handling of smart contracts and marketplace functions. These contracts are critical to ensuring secure and transparent transactions, but can be complex to understand and manage for those unfamiliar with programming.
As we move forward, one of the biggest challenges will be educating and building people's confidence, especially in an environment where distrust of the blockchain world can be a significant obstacle. Our educational approach will focus on demystifying the technology, providing artists with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate this new space safely and effectively. We believe that overcoming these challenges is crucial to getting more artists into the world of digital art and NFT.

Additional Features

Although our digital art project started with a “pixelart” tool, after learning about the Buildathon event we decided to expand our vision and transform it into “Get on Boat”. During the Buildathon, we focused on creating an environment that supports more artists, especially those who are not familiar with the blockchain world.

We identified the challenges they face, such as lack of education about blockchain and distrust towards the digital ecosystem. We are committed to addressing these challenges through accessible educational resources and tools that simplify the creation and sale of NFT art.

Our goal is for Get on Boat to be more than just a platform; we want it to be a meeting point where artists learn and thrive together in digital art and blockchain, ensuring they feel supported and empowered in their creative journey.
